Serums vs Oils

Serums vs Oils

There is a misconception that face serum is just a fancy term for nothing more than oil in a bottle that you slap on your face and hope it gets rid of the wrinkles.

When in fact there are significant differences between the two!

Face oil is for general use, to deposit vitamins to the skin in order for a nice juicy boost. It is usually thick in consistency.

A serum has a specific purpose to heal or change the cellular mechanism of the skin. It’s usually lightweight and absorbs well.

Applying a serum to the face or body delivers concentrated natural compounds directly into the skin, typically through a blend of various oils, each offering unique benefits. When combined, these oils create a rich and potent formula.

Regular use of a serum, both morning and night, can provide ongoing protection from environmental stressors. Serums often contain high levels of fatty acids and antioxidants, which help defend the skin against free radicals. Oils offer a straightforward and effective way to occasionally supply the skin with beneficial vitamins. However, because oils can be thick and leave a greasy residue, they should be used sparingly on the face to avoid disrupting the skin’s natural oil balance

If you want to use both on your face, you can add your serum first to help deposit and retain moisture in the deep tissue layers then add an oil to lock it all in.

Further, adding an oil will lock in the fluid levels in the dermal layer but can also trap and clog the skin preventing it from breathing and shedding as it normally should. A serum compliments the skins natural process whilst delivering the vitamins it needs to boost the level of production of collagen; encouraging the process rather than harboring it.

GioventX serums are a hybrid model in which there are several plant and seed based oils combined in a way to compliment the individual power they posses to hydrate, smooth, reduce inflammation, calm red/raw area from breakouts and provide an antibacterial solution. By doing this we are able to help prevent bacteria getting into the skin tissue whilst the nutrients go hard at work to rejuvenate it.
